Hi, I’m Marina, a Senior Applied Scientist at Twitch/Amazon.
I'm a Senior Applied Scientist at Twitch/Amazon, where I deploy production AI/ML systems focused on content understanding, forecasting, recommendations, and more. Over the past seven years, I've worked across the full ML lifecycle at companies including Coursera and a statistical consulting firm in Berlin.
My path here wasn't traditional. I studied Political Science in undergrad, ran a small business for several years, then completed my Master's in Public Policy (i.e. social data science) in Berlin in 2020. That non-linear journey taught me about successful career transitions, which is why I've spent nearly four years as a 1:1 career coach and mentor, with a particular focus on helping people from non-traditional backgrounds break into tech.
In 2024, I launched two YouTube channels and a weekly newsletter exploring two areas I care deeply about: the technical side (data science, machine learning, AI) and the mindset side (productivity, personal growth, and the mental game that matters in demanding fields). My goal is to make complex topics accessible while being honest about what it actually takes to succeed.
I also began writing on Medium, started a weekly newsletter, and am currently in the process of writing a proposal for my first book.
