Hi, I’m Marina - Senior ML Scientist, AI educator, and career coach.

I’m an AI/ML career coach and Machine Learning Scientist with seven years of experience building production AI/ML systems, most recently as a Senior Applied Scientist at Twitch (Amazon), and before that at Coursera.

My path here wasn’t traditional. I studied Political Science in undergrad, ran a small business for several years, then completed my Master’s in Public Policy in Berlin in 2020 before breaking into machine learning without a computer science degree. That non-linear journey is why I coach: since 2022 I’ve worked with nearly 400 people on transitioning into AI and ML careers, holding a 4.95/5 average across hundreds of one-on-one sessions. I have a particular focus on career changers and people from non-traditional backgrounds, whether that’s switching into AI in your 30s or 40s or moving over from an adjacent field. My clients have gone on to land Machine Learning Engineer, AI Engineer, and Data Science roles at companies ranging from startups to FAANG.

In 2024, I launched my YouTube channel where over 150,000 subscribers learn technical topics in AI/ML and how to navigate the tech job market. I also publish a weekly newsletter with 15,000+ subscribers, which explores both the technical side (data science, machine learning, AI) and the mindset side (productivity, personal growth, and the mental game for success in demanding fields). My goal is to make complex topics accessible while being honest about what it actually takes to break into this field and succeed.
